[ARCHIVED] Drop-off Recycling Center open weekends

The City of Powder Springs' Drop-off Recycling Center is now open, operating on weekends at 3006 Springs Industrial Drive. Materials cannot be brought or dropped off at Public Works outside of its weekend operating hours, listed below.

Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

GENERAL RULES 

  1. Keep all trash, food, and liquid out of your recycling.
  2. No loose plastic bags and no bagged recyclables.

GLASS

We ACCEPT clean glass bottle and jars. Please rinse all food and liquids from containers.

We DO NOT ACCEPT plate glass, windows, picture frames, mirrors, or ceramics of any kind.

ALUMINUM CANS

We ACCEPT clean aluminum food and beverage cans. Please rinse all food and liquids from containers.

We DO NOT ACCEPT aerosol cans or foil or foil-like containers.

STEEL/TIN CANS

We ACCEPT clean steel and tin cans. Please rinse all food and liquids from containers. 

We DO NOT ACCEPT aerosol cans, spiral wound containers (e.g., Pringles cans), pots, pans, and appliances.

CARDBOARD

We ACCEPT carboard boxes and packaging, including empty pizza boxes. Please remove all other material and flatten.

MIXED PAPER

We ACCEPT mail, magazines, newspaper, magazines, office paper, printer paper, paper bags, food boxes (e.g., cereal boxes). Please remove all other material and flatten.

PLASTIC #1 & #2 BOTTLES AND JUGS 

We ACCEPT clean and dry Plastic #1, or PET (polyethylene terephthalate), bottles and jugs.

Plastic #1 (PET) is typically clear and squishable (includes water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash bottles, olive oil bottles, peanut butter jars, etc.)

Please rinse all food and liquids from containers. 

We ACCEPT clean and dry Plastic #2, or HDPE (high density polyethylene), bottles and jugs.

Plastic #2 (HDPE) is typically opaque and can be a variety of colors (includes milk jugs, detergent bottles, bleach bottles, etc.)

Please rinse all food and liquids from containers. 

       

We DO NOT ACCEPT plastic bags or film, Styrofoam, or any other kind of plastic.
