The Powder Springs Police Department was proud to participate in the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 27th. The service was free and anonymous, no questions were asked. We are not a large community but we very pleased with the large turnout of citizens disposing of 51 pounds of expired or unwanted prescription medication. If just one life was spared because prescription medicine did not fall into the wrong hands, then it was worth every second we spent. On April 29th, all medication collected at the event was incinerated at the Cobb County Animal Shelter.
