City Manager

The City Manager is appointed by the Mayor and City Council and serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for the city. The City Manager is responsible for the daily operation of local government in Powder Springs. It is the City Manager's responsibilities to implement the Council's vision for the community and, in a cost effective and efficient manner, implement the policy direction they establish.

The day-to-day operations of city government are handled by a professional staff headed by the City Manager. The City Manager recommends candidates for department head positions; hires and supervises all staff below the department head level; recommends the annual budget; and implements, through staff, the policy adopted by the governing body.
