Downtown Powder Springs is the heart of the City and the place where residents and visitors can meet for recreation and entertainment. Powder Springs has a full schedule of events that occur On The Lawn in Town Square. There is always plenty of parking and most events are free to the public. There is something for every age and interest from parades and festivals to family fun runs and concerts. On The Lawn is the place to be in Powder Springs!

Shredding Event

Cost: Free and Open to the Public

Shred all your unwanted papers and documents safely and securely! Gather all your OLD receipts, records, taxes, letters, bills, invoices and bring them down to the Police Station. No binder clips, staples or paper clips, please! The Keep Powder Springs Beautiful Board is sponsoring this recycling event.

Spooktacular Chase 10k/5k hosted by Vision Rehabilitation Services

The Spooktacular Chase is an annual event to help raise funds to support Vision Rehabilitation Services, a local non-profit, dedicated to serving those who are blind or visually impaired so that they may live independently. This is the 10th Anniversary of the run and their second year in Powder Springs!

Fall Festival Trunk or Treat hosted by the Powder Springs Arts Commission

Cost: Free and open to the public

"When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers 'tis near Halloween!" Find your inner ghoul and creep down to Powder Springs for the Fall Blast Trunk or Treat! Costume Parades, music, crafts and lots of candy will be there for the taking IF you're brave enough to try.

"Songs of Christmas"
Parade & Tree Lighting


Date: November 30, 2018
Parade Time: 6:30pm
Location: Traveling down Marietta St from Old Austell Rd to City Hall
Tree Lighting Time: 7:30pm
Location: Town Square
Cost: FREE and Open to the Public
Make plans to kick off your holiday season right with the Powder Springs "Songs of Christmas" Parade and Tree Lighting!  First grab your spot along Marietta Street to enjoy the garland and lights as the Parade marches by then make your way to Town Square for the Annual Tree Lighting! We'll have music hot chocolate and cookies, and pictures with Santa!

New this year! 
Boxes marked with each entries name will be placed at the Tree Lighting for spectators to “vote” on their favorites. Votes will be cast by placing donated canned goods inside each entries box. The entry with the most canned goods at the end of the night will be our winner!

Reindeer 5k Fun Run


Date: December 1, 2018
Time: 9:00am
Location: Wildhorse Trail
The City of Powder Springs Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department is proud to be sponsoring the Reindeer 5k fun run on the Wildhorse Trail. Staging for the run will be at 9:00am at the Wildhorse Creek Park located at 3820 Macedonia Rd. by the lower ball field. Day of registration will begin at 8:00am. The run will commence on the scenic Wildhorse Trail and will loop back to Wildhorse Creek Park. Registration is $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 4-12 years old. Children 1-3 years old are free. Pets are allowed as long as they are on leashes. The proceeds from the run will benefit the City of Powder Springs Angel Trees. Participants who register by November 20th will receive a Reindeer Run t-shirt. All levels of fitness are encouraged to attend and wear your tackiest holiday Sweater!

Weddings can be stressful but yours doesn't have to be! Come out for the second annual Powder Springs Bridal Expo and find all the resources you need to make your special day magical! Admission is free and there will be great door prizes! We'll have vendors who can help you with all aspects of your planning! From your dream dress to your honeymoon, your Bridesmaids gifts to your DJ and the perfect Bridal or grooms cake! Of course all of this is to promote our local Powder Springs Rental Venues so you'll have an opportunity to view them first hand, too!

Pick-It-Up Powder Springs

Location: Meet at Town Square

The City of Powder Springs and Community Ambassadors invite our residents, students, and business owners to become Powder Springs Proud Volunteers on April 21st by participating in the annual City-wide trash pick up event. Volunteers will meet at Town Square at 8:00am to receive their assignment and work until 12:00pm. All first time participants receive a complimentary "Pick-It-Up" t-shirt! We look forward to seeing many community members there!
