Sweetwater Valley C.A.M.P. has been designated as a central location for flood assistance.  Starting Monday, October 5, flood victims can visit to speak with a case manager. Some of the agencies involved include Sweetwater Valley C.A.M.P., the Center for Family Resources, MUST Ministries and the Salvation Army. Resources that can be provided will include financial assistance, temporary housing assistance, food, clothing, diapers, hygeine items, school supplies and water. PERMITTING

Permits are required to perform any flood damage repair work on your home.  Stop by or call the Community Development Department to discuss permitting.

DON’T BE A VICTIM OF UNLICENSED CONTRACTORS
Anyone hired to perform construction repair work must be licensed by the State of Georgia. To verify that an individual is licensed visit the State of Georgia, Secretary of State website at https://secure.sos.state.ga.us/myverification/ or call the City of Powder Springs Permits & Licenses Division at 770-943-8001 ext. 363.


DEBRIS REMOVAL
Debris removal will be handled through the City of Powder Springs Public Works Department. Contact the Public Works Department at 770-943-8010 for answers to your questions about debris removal.

PUBLIC HEALTH
To help prevent mold remove all wet carpet and carpet padding as soon as possible, open windows to circulate air or use a dehumidifier. For information relating to mold visit the Environmental Protection Agency Website at http://www.epa.gov/iaq/flood/index.html .
