Meters & Meter Reading

City of Powder Springs employees read your water meter each month. You can expect to have your meter read at approximately the same time every month. It is possible that it could vary by a few days dependent upon weather conditions,
work conditions and other unforeseeable conditions.

Whenever our employees are in the field, they are there to provide a valuable service to you. Having actual meter readings means the City of Powder Springs does not have to estimate your usage, meaning your bills reflect your actual water usage.

While our employees are out in the field, we need your help to keep them safe as they go about their work. Locked gates and dogs are 2 of the biggest problems meter readers encounter, that with your help, we can solve.

Dogs are unpredictable, and a dog who is gentle with friends and family has the natural instinct to "protect" his home against a perceived "intruder." It's up to you, the homeowner and customer, to take the responsibility to restrain your dog when the meter reader arrives. Just check your bill for the approximate read date and be ready to secure your dog while the meter reader does his job.

Locked gates are another impediment. Again, being aware of the meter reading dates will allow you to unlock your gates long enough to give our employees access to your meter.

Additional Obstacles
Additionally, please do not let trash, household items, vehicles or shrubbery impede access to your water meter.
